The northernmost island of the Aegean Sea, was not accidentally named as “Emerald Island”. Thassos is mountainous and verdant, with a ring road of about 100 km, which leads to beaches with crystal clear waters. A fantastic route among olives, pines and the endless blue of the sea.
Except for the beauty of the nature and the exceptional food that offered by the local cuisine, the scattered archeological sites, the mountainous picturesque villages, the Monastery of the Archangel Michael are of special interest.
Access to the island is by ferry via Kavala and Keramoti and by plane from the airport "Megas Alexandros” , in Chrysoupoli and "Macedonia", in Thessaloniki (165 km from Kavala)
